It’s Not a Doll, It’s an Action Figure features artwork and photography inspired by, or using, action figures. Not to be confused with dolls, the subjects of Bear and Bird Gallery’s latest exhibit are on display doing what they do best: saving, destroying and living lives of high adventure.

Guest curator Anna Pants assembled a talented and diverse group of 14 international artists to participate in the show. Pants said, “Each artist was asked to recreate the memory of their favorite action figure and/or explore the fine line between an action figure and a doll.”

Giant Robot LA had a signing today with Sun Min and David. They released a special edition ICE BAT, limited to 300 pieces. I got 2. Also I was able to do 2 collab drawings with them! Awesome eh. Here they are.

So this year at comic con was amazing! So amazing! I got a gazillian toys, met a bunch of cool artists, took pics of many awesome costumes, loads of free stuff, got on the Triumph the insult comic show on Conan O'Brian, met Seth Rogan and DJ lance and the Yo Gabba Gabba crew along with the my friend Ian and his band the Aqua Bats, toy hunted with my pal John Okishi, stayed with and fought the con crowds with my wing man and great friend Matt Nelson and met a really cool girl named Kathryn Kulish. These are just some of the awesome things that I had the honor and priviledge to experience on my trip. You should go to my flickr sight to see all my photos.

It's a great store that has a t-shirt bar where you can iron on various images from different catalog's they have in the shop. With the Neely's help and willingness to let me "collage" the iron-ons I made a few t-shirts, one for me and one for my brother Ryan.

Last week I went to see my friends Erin, Tristan and Brett aka headlights play at Kilby Court. I helped make a music video for them earlier this year but never got to hear them perform live so when I saw them at Kilby I was blown away! They were awesome. I mean awesome. They sounded so great and had such stage presance it was so fun for me and everyone there. This little picture is a gift to them for being such great rockers. Headlights, I salute you.

This is a piece I did for the Didier family Dan, Dani and their little girl Miette. I met Dan and his family when my buddies from J4 productions went to shoot a music video for Dan's band Maritime. Dan and Davey were once in a little indie rock n roll band that you might know called The Promise Ring. Maritime is Dan Didier, Davey von Bohlen, Justin Klug and Dan Hinz. We (Ryan Gibb, Julian Acosta, Cole Webley and Ruel Brown) all had an awesome time shooting with these guys, all great guys and amazing musicians. Loads of fun we had. When the video is complete I’ll post it up so for now enjoy “Family Fun.”

So after Squarehead and I saw Monster House the other day we went to the shoe store and I saw a pair of blank Vans and knew I had to return to my doodling roots and draw on them. So after the purchase of the shoes and some colored Sharpies I got to work. And here's what I did.

So I get this envelope in the mail today from my good friend, Jared Lindsay Clark, and inside the envelope I find this blank ledger paper with a letter enclosed detailing this idea of "mail bonding". Jared's idea is to send these blank sheets to his artist friends and have everybody put stuff on them and send them back to him where he will, I don't know, do something with them on the internet. Maybe. So I thought this was a fun idea and started right away and here they are. Love ya, Jared.
